Certificate Translation
A degree earned abroad is often the strongest thing on a CV and the hardest for a UK reader to assess. Before anyone can compare it to a UK qualification – UK ENIC, an admissions tutor, an employer, a regulator – it has to be in English, in full, and certified.
We translate the certificate exactly as issued: the awarding institution, the award and its level, the classification or grade, the date, the signatories, and the seals and security features printed on it. The layout is mirrored so a reader can hold the two side by side.
WHAT THE HOME OFFICE asks for
This is the requirement in the Home Office’s own words, and it is the standard every certified translation we issue is built to meet:
Where documents provided are not in English or Welsh, you must provide a full dated and signed translation in English that can be verified. This must be dated and include the full name and signature of the translator or an authorised official of the translation company and their contact details.

WHEN YOU NEED a certified diploma translation
A UK ENIC statement of comparability
UK ENIC (formerly UK NARIC) assesses how a foreign qualification compares to a UK one, and needs a certified translation of the certificate to do it.
University or college admission
Undergraduate and postgraduate admissions teams ask for certified translations of prior qualifications as a condition of an offer.
A Skilled Worker or other work visa
Where a route requires a qualification, the Home Office needs it in English in a form it can independently verify.
Professional registration
Regulators such as the NMC, GMC, GDC and the accountancy bodies require certified translations of qualifications obtained abroad.
An employer or recruiter
Pre-employment screening routinely asks for the certificate itself, not just a line on a CV.
Further study or credit transfer
Where prior learning is being recognised, both the certificate and the transcript are usually wanted together.

Issued to the standard the Home Office publishes, which is the standard UK academic and professional bodies have adopted. Routinely accepted by:

If the body you are dealing with is not on this list, ask us before you order – checking what they actually require is free, and it is the fastest way to avoid paying for a level of certification you do not need.
THINGS PEOPLE get caught out by
The certificate is not the transcript
The diploma says what you were awarded; the transcript says what you studied and what you scored. UK ENIC and most universities want both. Ordered together they are quoted together – see transcript translation.
Grades are not converted
A translator renders your grade accurately; deciding what it is worth in UK terms is UK ENIC’s job, not ours. Anyone who offers to convert a GPA into a UK classification inside a translation is doing something the receiving body will not accept.
Institution names stay put
University names are given as issued, with an English rendering alongside where one helps. Silently anglicising an institution makes it harder, not easier, to verify.
Some bodies want it legalised too
Regulators and overseas employers sometimes ask for an apostille on top. The order is translate, certify, then apostille – the FCDO certificate goes on the translation we prepared.

An accredited, sworn linguist translates it; a second linguist who is a native speaker of the target language reads the whole thing against the source.
Certification
The translation is issued with a signed declaration of accuracy on company letterhead, dated, with the translator named and our wet stamp applied.
Delivery
By email the day it is finished, with a wet-stamped hard copy posted to your address if you need one. Corrections afterwards are free.

Will UK ENIC accept your translation?
Yes. It carries a dated declaration that it is a true and accurate translation of the original, the translator’s full name and signature, our contact details, company letterhead and our wet stamp – which is what UK ENIC and UK universities ask for.
Do I need the transcript translated as well?
Usually, yes. UK ENIC and most admissions teams assess the certificate and the transcript together. Send both and they are quoted as one job, which costs less than two separate orders.
Can you convert my grades to a UK classification?
No, and nor should anyone else inside a translation. Comparability is UK ENIC’s assessment to make. We translate your grade exactly as awarded so they can make it.
How much and how fast?
Priced per document with certification included and normally back within 24 to 72 hours, expedited as fast as 24 hours. Send the certificate and the transcript together and they are quoted as one job.
Do you need the original certificate?
No. A clear scan or photograph is enough, including any security printing and anything on the reverse. Your original stays with you.
My diploma is in a language you have not listed. Can you still do it?
Very often, yes – the list covers what we are asked for regularly rather than everything we can source. Ask, and if we cannot do it properly we will say so rather than take the job.
