SELLING ABROAD starts with being read in the buyer’s own language

Shoppers buy from the site that speaks to them. If yours does not, a competitor’s does – and no amount of traffic fixes a checkout page a visitor cannot follow.

We take a website, a shop, an app or a piece of software and rebuild it in the target language: the words translated by an accredited human linguist, the formats adapted to the market, and the result tested in place rather than pasted into a plugin and hoped for.

WHAT WE localise

Websites

Pages, navigation, forms, buttons, error messages, alt text and the metadata search engines read. Not just the body copy – the parts that decide whether a visitor reaches the enquiry form.

Online shops

Product titles and descriptions, category trees, size and material data, delivery and returns copy, payment and checkout wording, plus currency, address and measurement formats for the market.

Mobile apps

iOS and Android string files, onboarding, push notifications and in-app help, with the App Store and Google Play listing and screenshots done at the same time so the store page matches the app.

Software and SaaS

Interface strings, resource and .po files, tooltips, system and error messages, release notes and the help centre – kept against one glossary so the same button is not named two different things.

Content, blogs and social

Articles, campaigns, newsletters and social posts. Where the copy needs writing rather than translating, that is our marketing and content localisation service.

Policies and legal pages

Privacy notices, terms and conditions, cookie banners and consent text. These are the pages regulators read, so they go to linguists who work in legal text rather than through a plugin.

WHAT WE write

Website copy

A well-built site can still lose people on the words. Copy that is hard to follow, too long, or written for the company rather than the reader sends visitors back to the results page. We write pages with one clear message each and a reason to carry on reading.

Social media

Social copy has to sound like a person, stay on brand, and still say something. We read your existing content first, pick up the phrases that already work, and avoid the recycled marketing lines that audiences now scroll straight past.

Marketing copy

Brochures, campaigns, landing pages, product information and press releases. Direct, specific and free of the hard-sell techniques buyers have long since learned to discount – a clear offer beats a clever one nearly every time.

Articles, news and blogs

A site whose newest article is two years old reads as abandoned. Regular, genuinely useful writing keeps the site current for readers and for search engines, and we write it so it does not date in six months.

THREE DEPTHS of localisation – take only what you need

Most agencies sell one package. In practice some clients want only the words, because they have a developer of their own; others want the whole thing live and tested. Each level below adds to the one before it.

1

Translation and localisation

The words, done properly.

  • Every string, page and product record translated by an accredited human linguist
  • Proofread by a second linguist who is a native speaker of the target language
  • Terminology fixed in a glossary first, so the same term reads the same everywhere
  • Dates, numbers, currencies, addresses and units adapted to the target market
  • Delivered in your working format – XLIFF, .po, JSON, CSV, Word or a CMS export

You or your developer put the content back into the site.

2

Plus internationalisation and content import

We put it back in for you.

  • Multi-lingual functionality set up: a switcher on the front end, languages managed from the admin
  • All translated content imported through the CMS – nothing retyped and nothing lost
  • Translated URLs, page titles, meta descriptions and alt text
  • Hreflang and language tags set so search engines serve the right version to the right country
  • Keyword research in the target language, because a literal translation of a keyword rarely is one

Priced on the site map, since the work follows the number of pages and templates.

3

Plus design integration

And we make sure it still looks right.

  • Every localised template tested on desktop, tablet and mobile, and across browsers
  • Layout fixes where the new language runs long – German and Finnish routinely break a button
  • Right-to-left handling for Arabic, Hebrew, Urdu and Farsi: a mirrored layout, not reversed text
  • Font and character-set checks for Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Greek and Cyrillic
  • Line-break, hyphenation and empty-space problems corrected rather than left to the browser

Priced on the site map and the number of fixes the templates turn out to need.

THREE PACKAGES for content localisation

The difference between them is how much research and strategy goes in before the writing starts. All three are written by a human, edited by a human and covered by the same guarantee.

1

Economic

For content that needs to be right rather than remarkable.

  • Basic industry research
  • Content writing
  • Copy editing

Product descriptions, straightforward service pages, routine updates.

2

Standard

The usual choice for a campaign or a site refresh.

  • Advanced industry research
  • Keyword research on up to 4 terms
  • Copywriting
  • Copy editing

Landing pages, blog programmes, brochures, press releases.

3

Premium

When the words carry the positioning as well as the information.

  • In-depth industry research
  • Keyword analysis on up to 10 terms
  • Slogans and core marketing messages
  • Copywriting
  • Copy editing

Launches, rebrands, entering a new market.

Content is priced per word rather than per package, so the level you choose changes what goes into the work rather than adding a fee on top. Ask, and you will have an itemised figure the same working day.

HOW A LOCALISATION project actually runs

  1. Scope

We count what actually needs translating – pages, templates, product records, string files – and agree the language pair, the tone and the deadline. You have a fixed price and a date before anything starts.

  2. Team

A team is assembled for your project rather than whichever translator happens to be free: the right language pair, and a linguist who works in your subject, whether that is fintech, medical devices or fashion retail.

  3. Terminology

Product names, feature names and the terms you have decided not to translate go into a glossary before the first sentence is written, so the whole team works from one vocabulary.

  4. Translation

The main pass, run on our cloud platform so a team can work in parallel on one project without the versions drifting apart, and so repeated strings stay consistent across the site.

  5. Proofreading

A second linguist, a native speaker of the target language, reads the whole thing against the source. This is where accuracy is actually decided, and it is included rather than sold as an extra.

  6. Delivery

Files back in your format, or imported, internationalised and tested in place if you took level 2 or 3. Corrections after delivery are free, same day or next day.

THE FIVE LAYERS of a content strategy that works

Good copy is not one job but five, and skipping any of them shows. This is the order they happen in, and all five are inside the price.

  1. Industry research

What your market already says, how your competitors say it, and which of that is worth arguing with.

  2. Marketing messages

The two or three things the copy has to land, agreed with you before anything is written.

  3. Content creation

The writing itself, by someone who works in your field rather than a generalist reading around it.

  4. SEO optimisation

Headings, structure and vocabulary built around the terms your buyers search for, not stuffed with them.

  5. Proof-reading

A second pair of eyes on every piece before it reaches you, and free corrections after it does.

FOUR THINGS that keep a localisation accurate

One cloud platform

Translation memory and a shared glossary live in one place, so a phrase translated once is translated the same way everywhere, and a team of linguists can work on one project at the same time without collisions.

Translators rated on their work

Every linguist carries an internal quality rating built from completed projects and proofreader feedback. It decides who is offered your project, and it is why the same names come back for the same subjects.

In-house team plus a vetted network

A core in-house team handles the bulk and holds the terminology, with a wider network of vetted linguists for rarer pairs and for volume – up to 11,000 words a day on one project.

Developers alongside the linguists

The people who import and test the content are web and app developers, not translators improvising with a plugin. That is what makes level 2 and level 3 possible at all.

HOW THE PRICE is put together

Agencies like to say it costs less than you think and then invoice for more than you expected. Here is the whole basis, so you can check a quote against it.

Content

Priced per word, on the finished word count. Repeated strings across a site are counted once, so a shop with 400 near-identical product records does not pay 400 times for the same sentence.

Build work

Import, internationalisation and design integration are quoted on the site map – the number of pages and templates – because that is what the work follows, not the word count.

Updates

Once the translation memory exists, later changes are priced on what actually changed. Adding twenty products to a localised shop is not a new project.

Always before you commit

Send the URL, the repository or the export and you get an itemised written quote and a delivery date. Free, and with nothing attached to it.

Rates depend on the language pair and the subject, so we quote each project rather than publish one number that would be wrong for most of them. Ask, and you will have a written figure the same working day.

INCLUDED in the price, not added to the invoice

Content localisation advice

A conversation about what the content is meant to achieve before anyone starts writing it, and an honest answer if we think you need less than you asked for.

A website content audit

We read what is already there and tell you what is working, what is dated and what is quietly costing you enquiries.

Copy editing in the base price

Editing is part of writing, not a line item. Every piece is edited before it reaches you.

Industry and competitor research

What your competitors are saying and where the gap is, so the copy has somewhere to stand.

Keyword research before writing

The search terms are settled first, so they shape the structure rather than being sprinkled over a finished draft.

Discounts on content over 4,000 words

Larger projects are priced down, and every project gets free research on the ten most trending keywords in its field – whether or not you take a package that includes keyword analysis.

SEVENTY-TWO languages, one standard of work

Your site can go into any of the seventy-two languages we work in, and nothing in the process above changes with the language – only the linguist who does it. The European and Asian lists are set out in full on the languages page, along with the variants that matter: European against Brazilian Portuguese, simplified against traditional Chinese, Latin American against European Spanish.

LOCALISATION questions, answered

What is the difference between translation and localisation?

Translation is the words. Localisation is everything else that has to change for the content to work in another market – date and number formats, currencies, addresses and phone formats, units, imagery, legal wording, and the layout when the new language runs longer or reads right to left. A translated site reads correctly; a localised site behaves as though it had been built for that market.

Can you work directly in WordPress, Shopify or our own CMS?

Yes, at level 2 and above. We import the content through the CMS, set up the language switcher and the admin-side language management, and translate the URLs and metadata with it. If you would rather your own developer did that part, take level 1 and we deliver files in whatever format your build expects.

Do you handle right-to-left languages?

Yes – Arabic, Hebrew, Urdu and Farsi among them. It is a layout job as much as a language one: the interface has to mirror rather than the text simply reverse, and mixed content such as Latin brand names and digits inside a right-to-left sentence needs handling. That work sits in level 3.

Will the translated pages rank in search?

That is what the internationalisation step is for. Translated URLs, page titles, meta descriptions and alt text, hreflang tags so search engines serve the right version in the right country, and keyword research done in the target language – because the literal translation of a keyword is very often not the term people actually search for.

Do you use machine translation?

Not as the product. Our platform holds a translation memory and a glossary, which is why a phrase you have already paid to translate is not charged for twice and why terminology stays consistent. But the translating is done by an accredited human linguist and checked by a second one, and we do not ship raw machine output and call it a translation.

Can you translate only part of the site?

Yes, and it is often the sensible way to start: the pages that carry the traffic and the checkout first, the rest afterwards. The translation memory built on the first pass makes the second one cheaper.

What file formats can you work from?

XLIFF, .po and .pot, JSON, XML, CSV and Excel exports, Word and InDesign, iOS .strings and Android XML, and direct CMS exports. If you have something else, send a sample and we will confirm before you commit.

What happens when we update the site after launch?

You send what changed and it is priced on that, not on the whole site again. The translation memory means the unchanged text is not re-quoted, and the same linguists come back to it so the tone does not shift.

Who owns the translated content?

You do, outright, on delivery – including the glossary and the translation memory built for your project. Everything you send us is handled confidentially under UK GDPR, and we will sign your NDA if you have one.

How long does a website take?

It follows the word count and the level. A brochure site at level 1 is usually a matter of days; a large shop with import and design integration is planned in weeks. We run up to 11,000 words a day across a team working from one shared terminology base, and you get a date with the quote rather than after you have paid.

Can you localise into several languages at once?

Yes, and it is cheaper than doing them one after another – the scoping, glossary and template work is done once and shared across the languages. Tell us every market you are planning for, even the ones that are a year away, and we will structure the first build so the later ones drop into it.

Marketing and content

Is this translation or copywriting?

Both, and they are priced the same way. Translating existing marketing copy word for word rarely works – humour, idiom and cultural references do not survive it – so for campaign material we usually rewrite for the target market from the same brief, which the trade calls transcreation. Tell us which you want and we will say which we think the piece needs.

Who actually writes the copy?

Journalists, marketers and SEO specialists who work in your field, not general translators writing outside their trade. Every piece is then read by a second person before it reaches you.

Do you use AI to write content?

Not to produce what you pay for. The writing is done by a person and edited by a person, and originality is verified before delivery. Content assembled by a machine from whatever is already ranking is exactly the kind of copy this service exists to replace.

What does the 25-day guarantee cover?

For 25 days after delivery the copy is guaranteed original and free of spelling, grammatical and typographical errors. If any of that turns out not to hold we correct it free of charge, same day or next day.

How is content priced?

Per word, on the finished piece, with industry research, keyword research and copy editing already inside that rate. Projects over 4,000 words are priced down. You get an itemised written quote before anything is commissioned.

Can you work to our tone of voice?

Yes. Send the guidelines if you have them; if you do not, we work from what is already published and agree the two or three things the copy has to land before writing starts.

Will the content be optimised for search?

Keyword research comes before the writing rather than after it, so the terms shape the headings and the structure instead of being sprinkled over a finished draft. Every project also gets free research on the ten most trending keywords in its field.

How many revisions do we get?

As many as the piece needs. Iterations, corrections and editing are free of charge, same day or next day – that applies to content exactly as it does to translation.

Who owns the content you write?

You do, outright, on delivery, including the research that went into it. Everything you share with us is handled confidentially under UK GDPR and we will sign your NDA if you have one.

Can you write in several languages at once?

Yes, in any of the 76 languages we work in. The research and the messaging are done once and carried across the languages, which is both cheaper and more consistent than commissioning each market separately.

How long does content take?

A blog post or a set of product descriptions is usually a matter of days; a full site or a campaign is planned around the research phase. You get a delivery date with the quote, before you commit to anything.

Send us the URL

A link to the site, a repository or an export is enough to scope the whole thing. You get back an itemised written quote, a delivery date and a recommendation on which of the three levels you actually need – free, with no obligation, and handled confidentially under UK GDPR.

LOCALISATION wherever you are in the UK

The whole service runs digitally, so where your office is makes no difference to the work or to the price. Send the URL or the files, approve the quote, and everything comes back by email – with a wet-stamped hard copy posted to your address on the rare occasion a localisation project needs one.
