Financial Translation
Services
Financial translation is the one field where a formatting decision changes a number. A decimal comma read as a thousands separator moves a figure by a factor of a thousand, and a line item mapped to the nearest UK equivalent quietly restates an account into a framework it was never prepared under.
Our rule is simple and it is the same one the bank-statement work follows: figures are reproduced as issued, formats are read for what they are, and nothing is converted. Certified with a signed declaration of accuracy on company letterhead, dated, with our wet stamp where one is needed.
WHAT WE TRANSLATE in financial work
- Annual accounts and financial statements
- Audit files and auditor reports
- Bank statements and account histories
- Onboarding, KYC and source-of-funds evidence
- Tax returns and correspondence
- Payslips and employment income evidence
- Invoices, contracts and purchase ledgers
- Board minutes and resolutions
- Prospectuses and investor documentation
- Insurance and claims documentation
- Loan and mortgage paperwork
- Company registration and ownership records
Not on the list? Send it anyway – the analysis is free and we will tell you honestly whether it is work we should be doing. The full service is on professional translation.
THREE THINGS that decide whether financial translation is any good
A decimal comma is not a thousands separator
Much of Europe and Latin America writes 1.234,56 where the UK writes 1,234.56. Read the wrong way round, a figure is out by a factor of a thousand and the mistake is invisible – the number still looks like a number. Every document is handled by a linguist who knows which convention the issuing country uses, and figures are reproduced in the source format with the convention stated where a UK reader could misread it.
Accounts are not restated into UK equivalents
Line items prepared under one national framework do not map one-to-one onto UK terms, and choosing the closest-sounding equivalent produces a document that reads as though it were prepared under a standard it was not. Labels are translated as labels, with a note where the concept genuinely differs. Restating accounts is an accountant’s job and we do not do it by stealth.
Nothing is converted to sterling
A converted balance is a figure the bank never issued, and a caseworker or auditor comparing the translation with the statement sees a discrepancy. Amounts and currencies are reproduced exactly as they appear. If you need a conversion for your own purposes, do it separately and knowingly, not inside a certified translation.

HOW FIRMS actually order this
One-off work is ordered like anything else: send the file, approve the quote, get it back. Where it stops being one-off is where an account starts earning its keep.
On a corporate account
Terms agreed once, your terminology kept between jobs, priority handling and one statement instead of an invoice per document – for the teams that send financial work every week.
Corporate accounts & partnerships →Certified, and what that means
A signed declaration of accuracy on company letterhead, dated, with the translator named and our wet stamp – the form UK authorities, courts and institutions check for.
Certified translation →What happens to the file
The same five stages every order goes through, and the three-stage quality assessment behind stage four. Nothing is skipped because a job is small.

FINANCIAL TRANSLATION questions, answered
Will a bank or an auditor accept your translation?
Yes. It is complete and word for word, with every figure, stamp and reference reproduced, and it is issued dated on company letterhead with the translator named and signed and our contact details on it. Where a body asks for the declaration to be sworn or notarised, we can arrange that.
Do you convert amounts into pounds?
No, and we would push back if asked. A converted figure appears nowhere in the source document, and the mismatch is treated as a discrepancy by exactly the people you are trying to satisfy. Amounts and currencies are reproduced as issued.
Can you handle a full year-end or audit file?
Yes, as one project against one glossary rather than document by document, at up to 11,000 words a day across a team. Firms with a regular cycle usually move onto a corporate account so the terminology and the terms are settled once.
Is our client data kept confidential?
Yes, under UK GDPR, on our own platform and dedicated document servers, seen only by the linguists assigned to the job. We will sign your NDA and a data processing agreement.
Can you translate KYC and source-of-funds evidence?
Yes, and it is one of the most common things we are asked for. Identity documents, bank histories, property and inheritance paperwork and company ownership records are translated in full, including every stamp and endorsement, because that is what an onboarding check reads.
How quickly can you turn something round?
A standard document is normally back within 24 to 72 hours and expedited delivers as fast as 24 hours. Tell us the deadline and you will know before you pay whether it is achievable.
Send us the file
You will have an itemised written quote, a delivery date and a straight answer on what the receiving body actually needs – free, with no obligation, and handled confidentially under UK GDPR. We will sign your NDA first if you would rather.
