Medical translation covers two jobs that have almost nothing in common. One is a person’s records – a discharge summary, a vaccination history, a specialist’s letter – needed by a GP, a school, an insurer or a caseworker. The other is documentation about a product: instructions for use, protocols, labelling, safety reporting.
Both go to linguists who work in medicine, and neither is summarised. Certified with a signed declaration of accuracy on company letterhead, dated, with our wet stamp where one is needed. Send a scan and you will have a fixed price and a delivery date before anything starts.

THREE THINGS that decide whether medical translation is any good
A drug name is not a word to translate
The same molecule carries an international non-proprietary name and a different brand name in almost every market – and a brand used in one country is occasionally a different drug altogether in another. Names are carried across as written, with the international name given alongside where it helps the reader, and never swapped for whatever the local equivalent is assumed to be.
Units and abbreviations are reproduced, not helpfully converted
Blood results, dosages and measurements are written differently in different systems, and a value silently converted is a value that no longer appears anywhere in the source. Everything is reproduced as issued, with a translator’s note where a reader would otherwise misread it. The same goes for abbreviations: expanded in a note, never replaced.
Handwriting is read, and where it cannot be it is marked
Clinical notes are handwritten, abbreviated and frequently faint. Our linguists read them. Where a word genuinely cannot be made out it is marked illegible rather than guessed at, and if the unreadable part matters we tell you before delivery so you can obtain a clearer copy.

Who translates our medical documents?
Linguists who work in medical text, assigned on the subject as well as the language pair, with a second native-speaking linguist checking the whole thing against the source. Every linguist carries an internal quality rating built from completed work and proofreader feedback, and that is what decides who is offered the job.
Is a certified translation of medical records accepted by the Home Office?
Yes, and we guarantee acceptance. It is complete and word for word, issued dated on company letterhead with the translator named and signed and our contact details on it – which is what the guidance asks for.
How is patient data handled?
Under UK GDPR, on our own platform and dedicated document servers rather than emailed around, seen only by the linguists assigned to the job, and kept no longer than the work and your correction period require. We will sign your NDA and a data processing agreement.
Can you handle regulatory and life-sciences documentation as well as records?
Yes – instructions for use, labelling, protocols, standard operating procedures and submission correspondence, by linguists who work with that material. Ongoing programmes usually run through a corporate account so the terminology stays fixed across every document.
What about a document we need urgently for an appointment?
Standard is 24 to 72 hours and expedited delivers as fast as 24 hours. Tell us the appointment date when you send it and you will know before you pay whether it is achievable.
Do you need my original documents?
No. A clear scan or photograph is enough for the whole job including certification, and a wet-stamped hard copy is posted to your address when you need one.
