Translation for
the Public Sector
Buying translation in the public sector has two halves. The work itself is straightforward; getting a supplier through onboarding is usually the part that takes the time, and it stalls on questions nobody asked until the file was already needed.
So we answer them first: how the data is handled, what the quality standard is, what the insurance position is, and how the invoice will reference your purchase order.
WHAT PUBLIC SECTOR ORGANISATIONS send us
- Resident and service-user correspondence
- Casework and assessment documents
- Identity and residence evidence
- Housing and benefits documentation
- Education and school records
- Health and social-care records
- Policies, notices and guidance
- Consultation and engagement material
- Contracts, tenders and procurement documents
- Committee and reporting papers
Something not on the list? Send it. The analysis is free and we will tell you honestly whether it is work we should be doing – which is more useful than a page claiming we cover everything.
THREE THINGS that matter more to you than to anyone else
The procurement questions answered before you ask them
Where the data sits and for how long, who sees it, what standard the work is produced to, the insurance position, and a data processing agreement signed before anything is sent. Ask and you will have all of it up front – which is faster than discovering at the point of need that your supplier cannot answer question fourteen.
If you buy through a framework, tell us which
We will give you a straight answer about whether we can supply through it rather than a page implying we are on every list. That answer is worth more to you than an assumption you only find out is wrong at the point of raising the order.
Your reference on the order, on the delivery and on the statement
Purchase-order numbers, cost centres and departmental references are carried through to the itemised statement, so the finance team can reconcile without asking the requesting officer what a line item was. Several departments can order on one account with their own references.

HOW TO set this up
One-off work is ordered like anything else: send the file, approve the quote, get it back. Where the work is regular, an account removes the part you will get tired of.
Open a corporate account
Terms agreed once, priority handling, a named account manager, your terminology kept between jobs and one statement instead of an invoice per document.
Corporate accounts & partnerships →The subject, not just the language
Legal, medical, financial, technical and academic work each have rules the others do not. Projects are assigned on subject as well as language pair.
Industry translation services →What happens to the file
The same five stages every order goes through, and the three-stage quality assessment behind stage four. Nothing is skipped because a job is small.

QUESTIONS from public sector organisations
What do you need to get through our supplier onboarding?
Ask and we will send it before the first order: how files are held and for how long, who has access, the quality standard the work is produced to, the insurance position and a data processing agreement. If your form asks something we have not covered, ask us directly.
Are you on a purchasing framework?
Tell us which one you buy through and you will get a straight answer rather than an implication. We would rather lose an order than have you raise one against an assumption.
Can you certify documents that a decision will rest on?
Yes – issued dated on company letterhead with the translator named and signed and our contact details on it, with our wet stamp, and we guarantee acceptance.
Can different departments order separately?
Yes, on one account with their own references and, if you need it, approval sitting with a named person or cost code. Everything arrives on one itemised statement.
Is service-user data kept confidential?
Yes, under UK GDPR, on our own platform and dedicated document servers rather than emailed round, seen only by the linguists assigned to the work.
Send us something to quote
One document or a whole file. You will have an itemised written quote, a delivery date and a straight answer on what the receiving body actually needs – free, with no obligation, and handled confidentially under UK GDPR. We will sign your NDA first if you would rather.

WHEREVER your offices are
The whole service runs digitally, so where you are makes no difference to the work, the timing or the price. Send files, approve the quote, and the finished work comes back by email – with a wet-stamped hard copy posted to your address when one is needed.
