Translation for
Universities
Admissions work arrives in waves and against dates that do not move. What an office needs is not a faster translator but a predictable one: a known price, a known turnaround, and output that an assessor can act on without going back to the applicant.
The academic material itself is covered on the academic and scientific translation page. This one is about running it as an institution.
WHAT UNIVERSITIES send us
- Academic transcripts and mark sheets
- Degree and diploma certificates
- School leaving and secondary certificates
- Diploma supplements and module descriptions
- English-language and test certificates
- Reference and recommendation letters
- Identity and immigration documents
- Funding and sponsorship letters
- Research and collaboration agreements
- Student-facing policies and handbooks
Something not on the list? Send it. The analysis is free and we will tell you honestly whether it is work we should be doing – which is more useful than a page claiming we cover everything.
THREE THINGS that matter more to you than to anyone else
Clearing is a fortnight, not a term
Volume in admissions is seasonal and the peak is short. Tell us when yours is and it is planned for – a standing team briefed in advance, at up to 11,000 words a day – rather than absorbed on the day by whoever happens to be free. Capacity arranged in June is worth more than urgency bought in August.
Grades are reproduced, never mapped
A translation that helpfully converts a foreign mark into a UK classification has made an assessment decision that belongs to your admissions team or to UK ENIC. Grades come back exactly as awarded with the grading scale alongside them, so the judgement stays where it should be and the evidence behind it is complete.
One account, several departments, one statement
Admissions, the international office, research support and individual faculties all send work, and each usually needs it attributable to its own budget. An account can carry several authorised senders with per-department references on one statement, so the finance office is not reconciling twenty small invoices.

HOW TO set this up
One-off work is ordered like anything else: send the file, approve the quote, get it back. Where the work is regular, an account removes the part you will get tired of.
Open a corporate account
Terms agreed once, priority handling, a named account manager, your terminology kept between jobs and one statement instead of an invoice per document.
Corporate accounts & partnerships →The subject, not just the language
Legal, medical, financial, technical and academic work each have rules the others do not. Projects are assigned on subject as well as language pair.
Industry translation services →What happens to the file
The same five stages every order goes through, and the three-stage quality assessment behind stage four. Nothing is skipped because a job is small.

QUESTIONS from universities
Do you convert grades to a UK classification?
No, and you should be wary of a supplier who does. Grades are reproduced exactly as awarded with the scale reproduced alongside. Comparability is your assessors’ decision or UK ENIC’s.
Can you handle clearing volumes?
Yes, if you tell us in advance. Up to 11,000 words a day across a team working from one shared terminology base, with the same three-stage quality assessment as a single certificate.
What if an applicant sends only the certificate?
We will tell you, and tell them, that the transcript and its grading scale are what an assessment needs. Catching that on receipt saves a round trip that would otherwise happen after a decision deadline.
Can several departments order on one account?
Yes. Tell us who is authorised to send and who is authorised to approve, and whether approval has to sit with one person or one cost code, and the account is set up that way.
Do you translate outbound material as well as applicant documents?
Yes – prospectuses, policies, handbooks, agreements and web content. Student-facing marketing usually belongs on marketing and content localisation, which is writing rather than translating.
Send us something to quote
One document or a whole file. You will have an itemised written quote, a delivery date and a straight answer on what the receiving body actually needs – free, with no obligation, and handled confidentially under UK GDPR. We will sign your NDA first if you would rather.

WHEREVER your offices are
The whole service runs digitally, so where you are makes no difference to the work, the timing or the price. Send files, approve the quote, and the finished work comes back by email – with a wet-stamped hard copy posted to your address when one is needed.
