CERTIFIED TURKISH translation, accepted first time

Turkish civil status is held centrally, and the document that proves it is usually a population register extract rather than a single certificate. It sets out the family in one place – parents, spouse, children, dates and places – which is why it is so often the thing a consulate or a caseworker actually asks for.

We translate it and everything that travels with it, certified with a signed declaration of accuracy on company letterhead, dated, with our wet stamp. Send a scan and you will have a fixed price and a delivery date before anything starts.

WHAT THE HOME OFFICE actually asks for

Where documents provided are not in English or Welsh, you must provide a full dated and signed translation in English that can be verified. This must be dated and include the full name and signature of the translator or an authorised official of the translation company and their contact details.

gov.uk guidance on documents in support of an application

Every Turkish translation we issue carries all four elements – a full translation, a date, the translator named and signed, and contact details that can be checked – on company letterhead with our wet stamp. That is what acceptance actually turns on, and it is why we can guarantee it.

WHY EKO 4 for Turkish

Anyone can say they translate Turkish. These are the three things that actually decide whether a Turkish file is accepted.

The population register extract is the document to ask for

A nüfus kayıt örneği shows the whole family record in one place, which is why consulates and caseworkers ask for it in preference to a single certificate. If you are proving a relationship rather than a single event, obtaining one before you order will usually save you translating three documents instead of one. Ask us first if you are not sure which you need.

Documents from before 1928 are in a different alphabet

Turkey changed from the Arabic-based Ottoman script to the Latin alphabet in 1928, so anything older – and a good deal of genealogical and property material is – is not simply old Turkish but a different writing system. Those documents go to linguists who read Ottoman Turkish rather than being turned away or guessed at.

The dotted and dotless i, and what software does to them

Turkish has two distinct letters where English has one: i and ı, I and İ. A great deal of software silently converts between them, and a surname that comes back with the wrong one is a different word that no longer matches the passport. Names are reproduced exactly as issued, and where a source document is itself inconsistent we say so rather than choosing for you.

CERTIFIED, SWORN or apostilled – which do you need?

These are three different things and ordering the wrong one is the most common and most expensive mistake in the process. Which you need is decided entirely by who is receiving the document, and it is the first thing we check when you ask for a quote.

TURKISH translation – questions, answered

Will the Home Office accept a Turkish translation from you?

Yes, and we guarantee acceptance. It is complete and word for word, including seals, stamps and register references, and it is issued dated, on company letterhead, with the translator named and signed and our contact details on it.

What is a nüfus kayıt örneği and do I need one?

It is an extract from the central population register showing your family record in one document. If what you are proving is a relationship – a marriage, a parent, a child – it is usually the most efficient thing to obtain and translate. If you are proving a single event, an ordinary certificate may be enough. Ask us and we will tell you free of charge.

Can you translate old documents in the Ottoman script?

Yes. Anything issued before the 1928 alphabet reform is in an Arabic-based script rather than the Latin one, and it goes to a linguist who reads it. Send a sharp scan – these are often faded – and we will confirm before you commit.

Will you translate my driving licence for the DVLA?

Yes, including the category and restriction codes on the reverse, which is the part that actually matters and the part most often left out of a translation.

I need the document for a Turkish office rather than a UK one.

Then it usually needs an apostille as well as certification, and the order runs translation, certification, apostille. The apostille page sets out the timings.

Do you need my original document?

No. A clear scan or photograph of both sides is enough for the whole job including certification, and a wet-stamped hard copy is posted to your address when you need one.

Send your Turkish document

A scan or a phone photograph is enough. You will have an itemised written quote, a delivery date and an honest answer on what certification the receiving body actually wants – free, with no obligation, and handled confidentially under UK GDPR.

TURKISH TRANSLATION wherever you are in the UK

The whole service runs digitally, so where you are makes no difference to the work, the timing or the price. Send a scan, approve the quote, and the finished translation comes back by email – with a wet-stamped hard copy posted to your address when you need one.
